Teaching Methods
We have "The Most Simplified" way
of teaching shooting and other offensive fundamentals. All players
are able to easily learn from our simplified drills, techniques,
and word usage. We know this from the 34 years of teaching shooting
and testimonials. We`ve found that when players who have attended
our shooting camps tell other players about what they have learned
it plays a big factor in making the Dick Baumgartner Shooting Camp
the number one attended shooting camps in the U.S.

"Last Spring I had the opportunity to work with Eric Gordon of Indiana University on his 3 point shot, pull-up jumper, and dribbling. I used techniques and drills we teach and use at our basketball shooting camps.
The latest on Eric
Gordon. He really started
to show his potential.
In the month of Janurary
and Feburary. He scored
real well and in one game
he scored 42 points. He
was voted ROOKIE OF THE
MONTH IN JANUARY.
Recently, coming off a
shoulder injury he got 35
pts. off the Indiana Pacers."

COACH BAUMGARTNER WORKING WITH ERIC GORDON ON HIS SHOOTING
Eric Gordon has a 3 pt. shot, a pull-up jumper, and he can drive, pass
off or take the ball to the basket with great finishing skills. These
are offensive skills we do a great job of teaching through the best techniques,
drills, word usage. and one-on-one instruction available.
This is why players of all skill levels and talent can really benefit
from attending the 2009 shooting camps. Players who attend this Summer
will leave the shooting camp with a "pure stroke" and the offensive
skills to become a complete scorer. Coaches in today`s basketball want
a player who is a complete scorer with a great outside shot. Coach Baumgartner
After Working Another Two Sessions With Coach Baumgartner, Eric Said:
"Coach Baumgartner showed me how to make my 3 point shooting more consistent. After two small adjustments I could immediately feel the difference and I consistently shot better."
"He also corrected a dribbling mistake and gave me some drills to further develop my mid-range shot ( pull-up Jumper )."
"After my 3 sessions with Eric, one easily realizes his NBA potential is great." Coach BaumgartnerClick here for more pictures of Eric Gordon.
SAFETY - We are not a basketball camp where your son or daughter rooms and eats off campus. All dorms, cafeteria, and gyms are real close together ( some side-by-side). Supervision is real good. The people who supervise are stationed inside and outside the dorms for the safety of the players who attend our camps. Coach Baumgartner
Testimonial from 1st week of our basketball shooting camps.
Just wanted to say Thank You for providing the most instructional camp that I have ever attended."The six players I brought were well educated in the areas of shooting and ball handling. Your knowledge of the game was mind boggling to me. As a coach of 15 years I was like a kid in a candy store trying to absorb all of the information. We are giving our players a week off but when we return to the gym they will be working on exactly what we all learned. Thanks Coach and we will see you next year."

Each Summer we have several coaches, parents and grandparents come and observe their sons, daughters and grandchildren while they are attending one of the six weeks of shooting camps. This last summer of 2007 we had 80 plus parents, coaches and grandparents observe our shooting camps.
Coach Baumgartner:
I attended your boys and girls camps in June and July, and would like to share the following information with you.
Our son was and our two grandchildren are high school BB players. In an effort to improve their performance, we have attended twenty-six (26) BBcamps in WV, OH, PA, NJ, and yours in IN. In addition, we have used five (5) different private instructors, played BYO, AAU, youth BB, YMCA Leagues and school BB up to and including high school, with different coaches for each team.
Most of the camps were similar in content. They ran figure eights, dribbled around legs, did standard post moves, practiced various types of passes, standard lay-ups, and played games.
I wanted something different, something that would prepare them for today`s game. When I attended my first session of your camp, I knew somehow I had found a camp that was structured to teach the how and why`s of the pull-up jump shooting, 3 pt shooting, and other offensive skills. Proper footwork, hand position, ball position, dribbling moves, fakes, drills, one-on-one instruction, lay-ups. finishing well, and drills to do back home. This was what I was looking for.
God willing, both grandchildren and myself will be at next years (08) camps.
Thanks.

TESTIMONIAL
Steve Ignas, President of the Lithuanian Athletic Club in Canada attended our basketball shooting camp last summer. He had the following to say about our shooting camp: "I have been coaching for 26 years and have attended camps at Michigan, Notre Dame, Syracuse, and numerous others. Your shooting camp breaks down the shooting process like no other camp I have attended. Players learn easily from your teaching methods."
I will continue to recommend this camp as The Premier Shooting Academy. We again will be bringing players to camp this summer. All the best." -- Steve Ignas
Offensive Skills Camp With the Emphasis on Teaching Shooting
Many players who have attended several other camps say they learned more at the Dick Baumgartner Shooting Camp than all the other camps put together. This has been the number one comment that we have gotten the most in the 34 years of shooting camps. We credit this to our drills, techniques, word usage, and one-on-one individual instruction.
Another fact that we are proud of is where many players have come to camp who didn`t play much before coming to our shooting camp. After being at our camp they went back and not only led their team in scoring but also there conference.
We also at our basketball shooting camps do a very good job of teaching players how to correctly run the drills we teach at our camps. By learning to run the camp drills correctly they will do a better job practicing on their own at home. This is necessary if a player wants to develop into a great scorer and offensive player. Plan on coming to the number one attended boys and the number one attended girls shooting camps in the U.S.
